What is 4K UHD / 8K UHD / FHD?

TV resolution determines the fineness of the picture. In case of the same TV size, if the resolution is higher, it means that the more pixels can be presented in the picture, the more detailed and clearer the TV picture will be. At present, the mainstream TV resolutions on the market are roughly divided into the following three types. The TV resolutions are arranged in order from low to high as Full HD <4K UHD <8K UHD:

  • FHD (Full High Definition, Full HD): The horizontal pixels × vertical pixels of the TV screen are 1920 × 1080.
  • 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition): The more mainstream resolution of 4K TVs is 3840×2160, and the total number of pixels is 4 times that of Full HD.
  • 8K UHD: The resolution is 7680×4320, and the total number of pixels is 16 times that of Full HD.
