Television

When selecting a television, consider the following points:

1. TV Resolution
TV resolution affects the clarity of the image. With the same screen size, a higher resolution means that more pixels can be displayed, resulting in a more detailed and clearer picture. Nowadays, the mainstream TV resolutions include:

  • FHD (Full High Definition, Full HD): The horizontal pixels × vertical pixels of the TV screen are 1920 × 1080.
  • 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition): The more mainstream resolution of 4K TVs is 3840 × 2160, and the total number of pixels is 4 times that of Full HD.

2. TV Size

To choose the appropriate TV size based on your home environment and viewing distance, you can use the following formula to calculate the optimal viewing distance:

TV size (inches) × 3 = Optimal viewing distance (cm)
For example: 50 inches × 3 = Optimal viewing distance of 150 cm

3. Energy Efficiency
Check the information on the energy label to select products with lower annual energy consumption and higher energy efficiency ratings. Even after turning off the TV with the remote, it stays in standby mode. To minimize standby power usage, it's recommended to turn off the power supply at the outlet.
