FAQ

1.How can I participate in the Low Carbon Replacement Programme?

You can participate in the Programme if you meet the following five criteria:
1.You are a customer having a valid residential account registered with CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (“CLP Power”) as shown on CLP Power’s customer records;
2.You are a Domeo member and have their Domeo membership account linked to their online account registered with CLP Power;
3.You have purchased an electric appliance with a Grade 1/2/3 energy label under EMDS's Mandatory or Voluntary Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme (MEELS / VEELS) via a designated online or offline platform at a designated amount, and are using the appliance to replace a product of the same type which has been used for three years or more (regardless of model or brand);
4.Delivery and installation (if applicable) are completed;
5.Fill in and submit the application form.

2.Are all purchases of replacement appliances from Domeo eligible regardless of when they were purchased?

The promotion period for the "Low Carbon Replacement Programme" is from October 19, 2023 to December 31, 2023. During this period, if you purchase designated electrical appliances to replace old ones and successfully submit the application by January 31, 2024, or earlier, and the application is verified and approved by CLP Power and/or CLPeC's authorized online retailer, you can participate in this programme.

3.How should I submit my application?

4.What types of products are included in the Low Carbon Replacement Programme?

The designated electrical appliances for the programme include:
(1) Air conditioners, refrigerating appliances, washing machines, dehumidifiers, televisions, storage type electric water heaters, and induction cookers that have obtained energy labels of Grade 1 to 3 under the Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme regulated by the Hong Kong Government's Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance (Cap. 598) (the “Ordinance”);
(2) Household appliances including air conditioners (voluntary scheme), refrigerators (voluntary scheme), washing machines (voluntary scheme), and storage type electric water heaters (voluntary scheme) that have obtained energy labels of Grade 1 to 3 under the Voluntary Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme implemented by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD). 5.Does the to-be-replaced/old appliance need to have been purchased from CLP Power or Domeo?

The to-be-replaced/old appliance can have been purchased from any store. It doesn't have to be from CLP Power or Domeo. The participant only needs to provide the information of the old appliance.
Please make sure the to-be-replaced/old appliance being replaced is the same type as the new appliance bought from Domeo, or else you are not eligible for the Programme.

For example, customer A bought an electric water heater from Domeo and provided complete information on the old electric water heater. Customer A's application would then be approved to receive the relevant Domeo Points.
On the other hand, customer B bought an induction cooker from Domeo but provided information on an old air-conditioner. Customer B's application would not be approved since the product types do not match.

 

6.What documents do I need to submit for the application?

You only need to provide the following information when submitting the application by January 31, 2024:
(i)Applicant's English name and contact phone number in Hong Kong;
(ii)Domeo Member email and account, and the CLP Power online account it is linked to;
(iii)The relevant Domeo order details including order no., purchase location and product type of the newly purchased desinated appliance(s).  
(iv)The product information of the to-be-replaced/old appliance.
(v)Proof of delivery and installation completion (if applicable), which should be kept for future verification.

7.Can I submit any missing information later?

If we need any supplementary information during the assessment, you will be contacted via email. If we do not receive a response from you within the specified period, your application will be deemed invalid without further notice. In this case, you will have to resubmit your application. Late submission of information will delay the Points rewards so please do submit a complete application.

8.What documents do I need to keep for on-site inspection?

Please keep the following documents for the on-site inspection:
(i)Receipt of the old appliance. It must clearly state the date of purchase, product name and model etc;
(ii)If you cannot provide the receipt of the old appliance, please provide a picture of the old appliance you were using. The picture must be clear and the product model must be visible;
(iii)Proof of Domeo delivery and/or installation, including but not limited to the delivery note, proof of delivery or installation completion form.

9.Can I participate in the Low Carbon Replacement Programme multiple times?

Each eligible designated electrical appliance needs to be applied for separately. There is no limit to the number of times a Domeo member can participate in the programme. The purchased designated electrical appliances should be used to replace the same type of old product (regardless of model or brand) in a one-to-one manner, and the old product should have been used for three years or more from the date of purchase.
For example, if Customer C purchases an air conditioner for $3000 and an induction cooker for $1999 to replace existing products, Customer C can submit one application for the air conditioner and another application for the induction cooker. If both applications are eligible, Customer C's Domeo account will receive a total of 3000 points (2000 points for the air conditioner and 1000 points for the induction cooker) as rewards.

10.When will I know if my application is eligible?

Whether or not your application is approved, we will notify you of the results by email, 4 to 6 weeks after your submission.
If your application is approved, you will receive your Domeo Points at the same time.

11.If I move away after submitting an application, can I still enjoy the Domeo Points rewards?

If the applicant applies for account closure, changes the registered customer name of the account, terminates their Domeo account or terminates the usage of the specified appliance within 12 months of the approved application, CLP Power and CLPe Commerce Limited reserve the right to:
-Forfeit the applicant's eligibility and all rewards that are not yet credited; and/or
-Recall all rewards credited to the applicant's Domeo account.

 

 2023/2024 Low Carbon Replacement Programme Terms & Conditions: 

1.Eligibility 
a.The programme is only open to customers having a valid residential account registered with CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (“CLP Power”) as shown on CLP Power’s customer records. 
b.(i) To participate in the "Low Carbon Replacement Programme", the applicant must be a Domeo member and have their Domeo membership account linked to their online account registered with CLP Power. 
(ii) To be eligible for a reward^:-  
(1)the applicant is required to make a qualifying purchase of designated electrical appliances*, with such purchase meeting the specified amount** (per individual item), during the promotion period (i.e. between October 19, 2023 to December 31, 2023 (both dates inclusive)) through specified channels, including CLP's Domeo (including the online platform Domeo eShop at www.clpdomeo.com ), CLP Customer Service Centres (Mong Kok/Kwun Tong/Sham Shui Po/Tai Po), sales hotline, and limited-time booths/pop-up stores;  
(2)the designated electrical appliances* must be purchased for the purpose to replace (on a “one-for-one” basis) old electrical appliances of the same type, regardless of model or brand, which had been used for three years or more from the purchase date;  
(3 )the delivery and (if applicable) installation of the purchased designated electrical appliances* must complete on or before January 31, 2024 (for the avoidance of doubt, no assurance is given by CLP Power and/or CLPe Commerce Limited ("CLPeC”) that the relevant supplier will be able to delivery and/or install the purchased designated electrical appliances by the deadline stated); 
(4)the application form in the prescribed format must be successfully submitted on or before January 31, 2024 and the application has been verified to the satisfaction of CLP Power and/or CLPeC.  
*Designated electrical appliances mean:  
(1)Air conditioners, refrigerating appliances, washing machines, dehumidifiers, televisions, storage type electric water heaters, and induction cookers that have obtained energy labels of Grade 1 to 3 under the Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme regulated by the Hong Kong Government's Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Ordinance (Cap. 598) (the “Ordinance”); (2) Household appliances including air conditioners (voluntary scheme), refrigerators (voluntary scheme), washing machines (voluntary scheme), and storage type electric water heaters (voluntary scheme) that have obtained energy labels of Grade 1 to 3 under the Voluntary Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme implemented by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD). (Please refer to the information supplied by EMSD regarding energy labels: www.emsd.gov.hk).

c.Eligible Appliance Purchase Amount and Rewards: 
(i)Purchase of a designated electrical appliance (per individual item) with a net price after deducting all discounts below HK$2,000 will be rewarded with 1,000 Domeo Points subject to eligibility requirements stated above;
(ii)Purchase of a designated electrical appliance (per individual item) with a net price after deducting all discounts equal to or above HK$2,000 will be rewarded with 2,000 Domeo Points subject to eligibility requirements stated above;
(iii)Applicants will receive a notification email regarding the approval results of the Domeo Points reward within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of application; 
(iv)Applicants must maintain valid CLP residential electricity account, Domeo account, and ensure the linkage between Domeo account and CLP online account when receiving the rewards;
(v)The rewards can only be redeemed through designated channels, including CLP's Domeo (including online platform Domeo eShop at www.clpdomeo.com ), CLP Customer Service Centres (Mong Kok/Kwun Tong/Sham Shui Po/Tai Po), and sales hotline. The rewards cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, nor can they be used for other purposes. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions of Domeo at www.clpdomeo.com ;
d.No requests for change application details of the applicant will be accepted once the application is approved by CLP Power and CLPeC. 
e.Within twelve months after successful application, the applicant must install and use the designated electrical appliance at the address registered in their CLP account and specified in the usage agreement.  
f.Within twelve months after successful application, if the applicant terminates the electricity account registered with CLP Power, changes the registered customer name on the account, terminates the Domeo account, or ceases to use the designated electrical appliance for which a reward is granted, CLP Power and CLPeC reserve the right to: 
-cancel their applications and all non-issued rewards, and/or  
-revoke any previously issued rewards through the Domeo account. 
 
2. Application Method 
a.For the 2023/2024 Low Carbon Replacement Programme, applicants must purchase designated appliance products through the specified channel in 1b.(ii) between October 19, 2023, and December 31, 2023 (both dates inclusive). Applicants must submit their applications through the following methods and documents by January 31, 2024. 
Application methods:

Required information for the application: 
(i)Applicant's English Name and Hong Kong Contact Number;
(ii)Domeo member's email and the account linked to CLP online account;
(iii)Order details: order number, the purchase location of the new designated electrical appliance, and the prescribed category of the newly purchased electrical appliance;
(iv)Purchase date of the (to-be-replaced/old) electrical appliance; 
b.Applicants who fail to provide accurate information for the application within the specified time period mentioned above will be considered as ineligible. 
 
3. Document and Site Check 
a.Once the applicant submits the application, it signifies their agreement and acceptance that CLP Power and CLPeC may contact the applicant within twelve months after a successful application to submit the following documents for checking or arrange an on-site inspection as deemed necessary. 
Please retain the following documents for inspection: 
(i)Purchase receipt of the old appliance: It should clearly display the purchase date, product name, and product model information;
(ii)If unable to provide the purchase receipt of the old appliance, please provide clear photos of the previously used appliance, showing the model of the product;
(iii)Delivery and/or installation proof documents for the newly purchased designated electrical appliance, including but not limited to delivery notes, signed acknowledgment receipts, or installation completion confirmation documents;
b.If a site visit is required, CLP Power and/or CLPeC will notify the applicant to arrange such date and time for the site visit as may be mutually agreed by both parties.
c.If the applicant fails to consent CLP Power and CLPeC to conduct the document inspection with submitting valid document or site visit within three working days after the date of request of first notification made by CLP Power and CLPeC, CLP Power and CLPeC reserves the right as follows:  
-to cancel their applications and all un-issued rewards and/or  
-to revoke any previously granted rewards through the Domeo account and/or 
-to delay granting of rewards. 
d.If the required appliances set out in the application cannot be found during the site visit at the registered address, the applicants shall agree and accept that CLP Power and CLPeC may:  
-Cancel their applications and the non-issued rewards and/or  
-Forfeit the applicants’ rewards received from CLP Power and CLPeC and/or 
-levy an additional administrative charge of HK$500   
e.In case of any dispute, CLP Power and CLPeC reserve the right of final decision and the right to take appropriate legal action against fraudulent use and its users. 
 
4. Others 
a.The applicants and their suppliers/retainers shall directly deal and bear all the consequences regarding the procurement, transportation, installation, after sales services and product quality of any electrical appliances involved in this application. CLP Power and CLPeC shall not be liable for all the consequences associated with the procurement, transportation, installation, after sales services, product quality and all other aspects in connection with the appliances. 
b.CLP Power and CLPeC staff account holders are not eligible to participate in the scheme.  
c.Product sales and related matters are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective sales platform. 
d.The applicants agree and accept that CLP Power and CLPeC reserves all the rights to rectify the terms and conditions of this Programme at any time without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising from this Programme, the decision of CLP Power and CLPeC shall be final and binding.  
e.Late applications or failure to provide complete required information will not be accepted. 
f.These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR.  
g.In the event of discrepancy or inconsistency between the English and the Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.

i.If necessary for processing any of the application above, CLP may transfer your personal data to third parties, including: Service providers engaged by CLP (including service providers outside Hong Kong and cloud service providers) and related companies, including subsidiaries and associated companies within CLP Group. CLP will disclose data when required to do so by law and may also disclose such data in response to requests from law enforcement agencies or regulatory authorities.
